Dear Brothers & Sisters at Hillside Chapel,
April 3rd the government imposed a province wide “Emergency Brake” shutdown in Ontario. This week the government imposed a Stay-at-Home order effective April 8th, 2021 for at least 28 days. Thankfully religious services are still allowed to meet at 15% of our capacity.
The Elders and Deacons have met this evening and prayerfully considered how best to proceed. Ultimately we feel it is good to continue to meet but also feel an obligation to protect the flock. We thus would like to encourage those who are over 60 or at high risk based on their medical conditions to consider meeting with us on zoom. There is an increased prevalence of the variants of concern in our region presently and the risk of infection is higher now than it has been in this past year. We trust this increased level of concern will only be a reality for the next 4 to 6 weeks. Each member should feel comfortable to make their own decision and know that they are welcome to attend but similarly not feel obliged to attend in person.
Proposed services from April 8th on:
Sunday services: in person capacity limited to 40 and zoom option as per usual.
Sunday School: just the youngest classes, JK to Grade 3, will meet. Older children will attend the family bible hour.
Tuesday Prayer Meeting: Zoom only
Friday Youth meeting: in person with capacity limited to 40 people.
We are limited to 40 people in the building for a service. To do this in a coordinated fashion we are asking all people attending services in person to register in advance.
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out.
In His Service,
The Hillside Elders & Deacons
